Snow and more snow didn't stop us from heading out on our road trip.  The Panquigh summit was the worst part of the morning drive with snow all over the windy mountain road.  The farther south the better the weather.  Landed in Flagstaff mid afternoon and spent time with Mark, Brecia and Nellie.  Arizona is our first stop at Bison Ranch Wyndham.  Two days later we drove about an hour to Pinetop Wyndham for 4 days.

We ate at the Wild Women Cafe.  Very good salad and fun atmosphere.

March 20, 2018 we left Bison Ranch and checked out the scenery along the way to Pinetop.  Turned off to check out Clay Springs.  One picture of the town says it all.

The small town of Clay Springs, Az. fits into one picture frame.  Makes you wonder what history has transpired in this small part of the world that drew people to live so isolated.

Drove through Show Low, Arizona and enjoyed to the pine trees.  A lot of the tress had been burnt from a big fire years ago along the Mogollon Rim.

Lakeside/Pinetop, Arizona
(March 20-23)

Lakeside Arizona should have a lake.  As we drove around, waiting to get into our room, every lake road led to a residential area of the town.  Thank goodness for google maps that led us to Woodland Lake.  A perfect day for a leisurely walk in nature.

We got into our resort Tuesday afternoon, March 20th and it has been a quiet mountain retreat.

                                 Tucson, Arizona
(March 23 - 25)

We woke up in the pines, drove to Tucson and ended our day surrounded by cactus watching the sunset on the grounds of the Tucson Temple.

Saturday, March 24th we woke up early and went to a car show and then headed to the Saguaro National Park.  Spent the rest of the day at Old Tucson. We ate at a BBQ restaurant that was delicious.  We decided to go through one of the amusement attractions, an old mine spook alley.  As we walked through and heard noises and saw things fly out at us, Darlene stated that she would be alright as long as no one touched her.  Seconds later, someone touched her.  SCREAM and hang on to Howard.  It happened a total of 3 times with the same reaction.  Even knowing it was Howard didn't make it less scary.  She told the group waiting to go in that it was sooo scary.   We returned to the resort and relaxed in the spa and watched a movie.
