Flagstaff from Mars Hill.....The place Howard took Darlene on her first trip to Flagstaff to meet the family and try to impress her to be more than friends.  He was answering my question, "Is Flagstaff as big as Salt Lake?"  His answer was, "Almost."  After over 45 years I  don't think Flagstaff has caught up to Salt Lake.

Can't see most of Flagstaff for the trees.  The bottom picture is mostly of  NAU campus.

We had some company.....a little deer family.  Hope they find a lot to eat because they looked like they had been through a hard winter.

First Sunday here was Stake Conference which made it possible for Howard to see a lot of people that he grew up with.  One lady approached and introduced herself as Ellen Bunker, cousins reunite after 40+ years.  What a reunion!  Talking continued from the chapel to the foyer to the church parking lot to our resort through lunch and into the late afternoon.  When Mark and Brecia arrived there was instant greetings between Ellen and them because they knew each other from their ward.  Just didn't know they were related to each other.   Monday morning we met up with another of Howard's cousin, Margaret (Ellen's sister) and her husband Craig Summers for breakfast.(Forgot to get a photo)  They have a townhouse in Flagstaff and were on there way home to South Jordan, Utah.  More talking and catching up.  Never know where you will run across someone you know, or someone related to you.

Ellen just retired from 17 years of teaching at BYU-H and is now going on a mission to New Zealand in June.  New Zealand was the mission that their Great Grandfather Laron Bates served.  The missionary service of this family continues.

Went to Snowflake and watched Nellie while Mark and Brecia went to the temple.  Visited with Sally and went to Eva's Mexican Restaurant for dinner. (Forgot photos)

Still a landmark in Holbrook, AZ on Route 66.  Was here over 30 years ago when we lived in Joseph City.  Always had old cars parked around it, guessing to make people think that the tepees were occupied.  Driving around it at night there were actually new cars and lights on in the tepees.  People actually stay here.  Might be fun to do sometime.

So our circle is almost complete.  Left Delta on March 18th and spent time in Flagstaff with Mark, Brecia and Nellie and now leaving for Utah on May 13th.
Arriving home safe and sound and so thankful for all the answered prayers for such a fun and safe trip together.   Spring road trip is complete and now on to the next adventure...............More to come.
